Thomas Marionneau, an EM Normandie Grande Ecole programme Year 3 student, is launching Disques réfléchissants, a start-up business to market driving reflective discs for drivers to be visible in the dark, all manfactured in France.
« Road Safety Agency stats are very telling: road accidents are the first death cause for 18 to 24 year olds. Moreover, about 57% of that age group’s death by road accident happen at night,» explains Thomas Marionneau for whom designing reflective discs appeared obvious.
Since 1st March 2016, he has been marketing ‘Junior Driver’ (the traditional ‘A’ sign) and ‘Accompanied Driving’ discs, which comply with current regulations and are made of the same material as motorway signage. His goal is to make unexperienced drivers more visible at night, and thus increase road safety for other drivers.
To work out his project, Thomas Marionneau has been hosted by the InsIDE incubator since October 2015.
