The HRM function is essential for optimising the operations of a business organisation. Such managers will define and implement the organisation’s HR management and administration policy (recruitment, pay package, mobility, career management, etc.) while taking into account the needs and expectations of its employees.  

This degree in Human Resources Management provides comprehensive training in all areas of human resources and gives you the required skills to meet the human capital needs of a business and ensure the entire workforce succeeds. The first semester covers core HRM topics (recruitment, training, employment law, career development, resource planning, etc.), while the second teaches lessons sought after by companies to succeed in the future (pay strategy, HR and CSR, HRM in the digital age, etc.). The coursework continuously strives to combine the best of HRM research with professional development opportunities (missions, professional case studies). This Master of Science Degree aims to train competent and curious HR Managers who are open to future innovations.

Evaluation criteria for the course

All components of the student's education are evaluated: academic learnings, internships, missions, challenges, dissertations, study stays in partner universities. For academic learnings, continuous assessment generally accounts for 40% and the final exam accounts for the remaining 60%. Evaluations may also take the form of case studies, role-playing, group work, etc. Professionalisation (work-study, internships, missions, challenges) and, where appropriate, the corresponding report, will be evaluated jointly by the teaching team and the company.

Eligibility for application

The programme is open to students holding the following degrees:

  • Master's degree or equivalent ("Bac+ 5" or 5 years after secondary education / Baccalaureate) 
  • 4-year undergraduate degree with 3 years of professional experience (internships excluded).
  • If French is not the candidate’s first language, a language certification (DELF/DALF = C1)
  • Exceptionally the admissions board may accept applications that do not meet the formal criteria listed above but appear exceptional on other aspects (academic excellence, community work, international experience, internships, etc.)

Admission procedure

  1. Application files submitted are reviewed with special attention paid to the seriousness of the file and the quality of the academic and/or professional profile.
  2. Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview via Skype. This interview helps clarify the applicants profile, their projects, their objectives. The final admission decision (offered or denied admission) is communicated a few days after this interview.
  3. Admitted candidates are notified formally and invited to make a down payment, later on deducted from the  tuition fees. This initial payment confirms the candidate's seat in the programme and an unconditional letter of admission is then issued.

In order for our students to benefit from optimal learning conditions, places in our programmes are limited. The number of remaining places is reviewed after each admission session. Whenever a cohort is full, admissions for the programme are closed.
The application deadline for the next 2022-2023 admission session is every 15th of the month.

In addition to the EM Normandy application form, international candidates must approach their local Campus France office to facilitate the process of obtaining their visa. Once the down payment has been received, the School will help International students with their visa procedures and search for accommodation.

General information about the employment market

Technological and legislative developments (digitisation, PAYE, French labour laws, GDPR,etc.) have created a need for versatile staff across administrative functions (pay, HRIS, C&B, social management control etc.). Most in demand will be those who have an inquiring mind, possess international experience and can adapt to innovative tools when sourcing and recruiting. The biggest increase will be in talent management roles as the competition for talent is still ongoing. What’s more, digitisation will speed up the evolution of roles, with an impact on recruitment, internal mobility and forward planning for jobs and skills: human resources will be put back at the heart of business strategy.

To be efficient, Skills Management can only be applied in functions with a high degree of responsibility or autonomy.
