Métis Research Area: Entrepreneurial Performances and Changes

EM Normandie trains students and professionals in the managerial and entrepreneurial challenges of tomorrow and produces scientific knowledge related to them. The use of this scientific knowledge, through the implementation of appropriate pedagogies, prepares future managers and entrepreneurs to support strategic and organisational change in companies, driven by a strong context of innovation, internationalisation and/or digitalisation.

Research Themes

The “Entrepreneurial Performances and Changes” research area brings together research carried out in the fields of entrepreneurship and SME management. It is structured around 3 main themes:

Business Models and Innovative Financing

Ongoing projects:

  • Start-up financing
  • Micro-financing
  • Crowdfunding
  • Etc.

Entrepreneurship and Societal Issues

Ongoing projects:

  • Agricultural entrepreneurship
  • Woman entrepreneurship
  • Access to energy for African micro-companies
  • Changes in employment and individual entrepreneurship
  • Entrepreneurial support
  • Etc.

Management and Driving of SMEs

Ongoing projects:

  • Management control in small companies
  • Growth and financing of SMEs
  • Governance of SMEs
  • Internationalisation of SMEs
  • Accounting information systems and budgetary innovations in SMEs
  • Digital transformation of SMEs
  • Etc.

This research area also contributes to the work of the Chair in Entrepreneurial Models in Agriculture and the Chair in the Management of Digital Transformation, both inaugurated in 2018. Its activity also includes international collaborations such as those developed with the Corvinus Business School (Budapest, Hungary) or with ESG UQAM (Montreal, Canada), as part of the Journées Georges Doriot devoted to entrepreneurship and co-organised with HEC Paris.
