To manufacture knickers in France for those uncomfortable days in women’s lives, such is the creed of "petites culottees", a young start-up recently founded in November 2018. But who is hiding behind this daring and sparkling denomination ? Shonnead Degrémont, a student in the final year of the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme, Start-up and Digital Development, currently hosted at InsIDE.
« Every year, women spend $ 770 on average in feminine protection products, underwear and bed linen. And this amount will rise to some $ 26800 by the end of the active menstruation period in their lives: it’s staggering! Especially as sanitary towels and tampons are far from being comfortable and respectful of our bodies and the environment …. this is the quest that got me travelling the world to look for a product which would combine good looks, comfort, savings and responsible consumption » Shonnead confides
And finally, it was, at the factory of the famous LEMAHIEU underwear manufacturer in France, that the first items of the Petites Culottées were woven. Briefs or Tangas, red or black, for both teenagers or women: they will suit all tastes!
To launch her collection officially and extend her range, Shonnead offers pre-order options on the Ulule crowdfunding platform. A great idea for a present to drop into Xmas stockings.
